Somebody else probably will elaborate, but the early Campy C-Record cranks with the engraved logo did break. Worse were the pantographed Bianchi ones - I have heard that they all broke! The cranks are skinny, and any stress riser appears to be too much. (Did they test prototypes without the logo?) Anyhow, Campy did improve those by going to silkscreened (?) logos.
