Chuck, et al:

Any of you who noticed my wardrobe ensemble at the Cirque this year know this is something to which I've obviously devoted much thought. In order to complement the gorgeous Joe Bell paintjob on my Phil Brown touring bike, I customarily wear (from the ground up):

* leaf-green Converse Chuck Taylor low-tops ($25.00) * greenish/olive drab wool Army-surplus mid-calf-length socks (3pr/$10.00) * olive shorts (non-bicycle-specific) ($9.95, end-of-season sale) * light-green-background faux-Hawaiian shirt (Speedo; stretchy; $8.50 @ same end-of-season-sale)

Looking good is its own reward. Good thing I don't own a pink Mercier.

Chris

"I'm so attractive; I don't tell lies: I always look so stunning; don't know why. It's just a talent that I have: I'm so intelligent, too; Sometimes I think I'm wasting my time with you."

So I was having this discussion off-list about dressing to match your bike. Now I know lots of guys get the current clothes to match their modern bikes, like a Postal Trek with Postal team clothes, but do any of you do the same with your vintage bike.

This is me at a local vintage ride the other day. Anyone else out there play dress up or do you think it's over the top?

On the West Coast the vintage rides are pretty much like a party. Is it like that where you ride when you get together?
