Sometime ago on this list, there was a discussion about a Campagnolo Rally derailleur posted on Ebay. The particular derailleur discussed had Campagnolo Nouvo Record body with Rally cages. I do not remember the general consensus about whether the derailleur was modified by a distributor or whether Campagnolo actually issued such a derailleur.
I have just received two of these derailleurs, NOS in the box, the body clearly marked Campagnolo Nouvo Record, the cages clearly being Rally derailleurs, blue tag still on the bolt, absolutely no sign of wrench marks or alteration. I am asking for information either on the conclusion of that discussion or whether any on the list know whether this is authentic Campagnolo issue.
One of these for sure I intend to put on Ebay and would like to be able to describe it as accurately as possible, or at least not describe as something that it is not.
I have jpegs if any would like to see what I am discussing.
