I'm always amazed when I hear statements like the above! (I'm assuming that by "cracking" you are also implying "breaking?")

I have been in or around the bike industry for more than a quarter of a century and have never seen figures published anywhere on crank breakage. I personally know about or have seen a few broken Campagnolo, Shimano, TA, Mavic and Stronglight cranks, having heard from friends about some of their experiences with broken cranks and now with the internet have read of other's first hand experiences with broken cranks.

In my experience, your statement above rings hollow. What facts do you have to back up this belief of yours Jerry?
