Subject: [CR]"world" logo hoods

Hi Listies

I've been having some interesting off list discussions with some members about the dating of parts. Skip and I have had fun with finding evidence for the Shimano code system, see his excellent website at < http://www.vintage-trek.com/component_dates.htm http://www.vintage-trek.com/component_dates.htm > for full explanation.

I'm sure this has been done to death here before, but does anyone have a good memory as to when the "world logo" Campagnolo hoods stopped showing up on levers? In looking at a completely original Raleigh Pro from 1982, I was surprised that it too had these hoods, (dry, cracked and crusty!) and not the "shield" type logo, so common on Ebay these days. My 1982 campagnolo catalog pictures are too hard to make out what the lever is 'wearing', and the drawings are too old to use for dating purposes. (I guess for purposes of this list, all "shield" discussions are off topic, if as I suspect, they wasn't introduced until almost the end of production!)
