It wasn't only Hinault that LeMond had at his side. At the beginning of his career with Guimard's team, he had the cycling equivalent of basketball's 'Dream Team' of the Barcelona olympics. There were 3 eventual Tour de France winners on the team, combined they won 10 Tours. The same team strength was true at Toshiba/La Vie Claire where his team not only won the G.C. but a number of other jerseys too. His year with PDM was forgettable, notwithstanding a strong team. There was then a vacuum of power at the top of the peloton and Lemond had by then learned from the best teachers around how to 'manipulate' the peloton. His team with ADR and to a lesser degree Z were not great like the teams of the early years of his career, but they were also not noticeably weaker. As for Gan at the end...
