I hyperlinked the web page below, but apparently some email programs don't continue the entire hyperlink if the link is continued on an additional line/s. If the entire link is not hyperlinked, then you have to paste copy/paste it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi everyone,

With all the questions regarding preservation methods for gum rubber hoods, liquid latex has been brought up many times, in past discussions as well. Personally, I have never tried it on gum hoods, so I can't offer any opinion However, using liquid latex products for tires is something I can offer an opinion on. I have been using a product from England called " SpeedSeal Tubproof Proofing Solution Product #4". It is made for tubular tires. I have no clue where to get it, or if it is even still available. I don't even know how I got it. I assume it is very similar to the Jevelot product, which is probably nothing more than diluted liquid latex......all assumptions on my part. Anyway, this product is great, although it smells kind of funky. The best thing is it works on clinchers too. For anyone who rides Continentals or Vredestein clinchers, you know how dry the sidewalls get. This product keeps them soft as the day you bought em, assuming you apply it with some regularity. Of course it does the same for tubulars. I hope it really does help gum hoods too.

The point is, that assuming the aforementioned products are probably just liquid latex, I'm sure there are cheaper sources for it. I just did a quick search on Google, typing in some different key words, and came up with this product. I have no clue if it will work for our purposes, but it looks like it will. You can get a quart for $6.50. By doing more searching on the Internet, I'm sure we can find a product that is equivalent to the aforementioned products, at a fraction of the cost.....or at least get much, much more for the money.

PS. When using the search engines, be sure children are not around you. Apparently "Liquid Latex" is also very popular in the erotic/adult world. Some of the links will take you to sites no suited for children.
