Regarding the potential resurgence of lugged steel bikes, one more encouraging note is that in a pre-Christmas issue of Velo News (Lance Armstrong on the cover) an article on Pegoretti frames mentioned that the P. framebuilder was planning to build 25 new lugged steel frames with modern tubing and dimensions (whatever "modern" dimensions are, I don't know).

Some of the text was copied from the Gita brochure on Pegoretti, but a picture of the builder, posing along with his vintage styled creation, was included.
