I have been asked about a Detto Pietro bicycle-

Here's what was written to me:

John, The bike is a Detto Pietro. The frame is marked Detto but it has
> a columbus sticker on it. The front of the frame has an engraving dp.
> The components are Gipiemme and campi. I often road in central park in
> New York. I was stop often by other cyclist inquiring if the bike was
> a true Detto. I've been to about 10 bike shops in my area and no one
> can tell me anything about this bike. At one bike shop the owner said
> he was in business for about 20 years and he has never seen a bike
> like this one. If I recall, when I bought this bike the sales person
> told me that he bought it at a bike show. This was the only one he had
> left. Throughout the years, I thought that the bike line was not
> successful, that is why I never saw another one like it. Thanks for
> your quick response. I hope you can educate me about the history of
> this bike. Please see the attached

> Thanks
