Latest list of frames, parts and books for sale to CR members before they go to Ebay. Some items have already been to Ebay - they are now offered to CR members at a considerable saving. I have photos of many of the items - or can take one if necessary. All items are priced in $. Shipping will be extra charged at cost. Frames typically cost about $100 in a double skinned box but can be sent more cheaply (single skinned box and surface mail if required) Enquire for actual cost if you like before deciding. Payment can be made in cash with dollars or by money order in Pounds sterling ($1.45 to 1 GBP). American Express Travellers cheques in $ are also fine. I can take PayPal but I have to charge 5% extra to cover what my bank charges me. Regards Hilary Stone, Bristol, England

DUNLOP SPECIAL LIGHTWEIGHT NOS 26 x 1 1/4in 32/40H rimset. Excellent unused condition. The Dunlop Special lightweight rim design was launched in 1935 and was in production until the middle 1960s. Until the late 1950s they were pretty much standard wear on top end British classic lightweight bikes - rims like the Constrictor Asp were always an extra cost option. Despite being steel they are pretty light - some alloy rims such as the solid section Constrictor Boas were actually heavier! The 26in size was popular until the end of the 40s by which time the 27in size had more or less taken over. $110

GRANBY 20in TAPER TUBE FRAME probably early 1930s. 22 1/4in in top tube ctc. Remember that this was a medium frame size during the early 30s - equivalent to a 22in frame these days. Both top and down tubes taper out at the bottom bracket to 1 5/8in. This particular frame also has Granby¹s square to round section chainstays and the seat tube bolt is on the front of the seat tube - above the top tube not underneath as with the Legnano. These frames are really pretty rare. Granby patented the taper tubes in 1926 and continued to offer them until the late 1940s. The square to round chainstays were another Granby idea introduced in 1930 in order to improve clearance for the rear tyre. This frame has been crudely painted and Granby repro transfers applied. There is no doubt however that this is a Granby - the frame number is stamped on the underside of the fork crown - a Granby trademark. However it does need a full restoration - both rear mudguard mounts need replacing and one of the rear dropouts has been crudely repaired. However this is a simple plate affair that is easily replaced - I think I could find a new set of Chater-Lea dropouts for the successful buyer. The rest of the frame appears very sound - the main tubes appear to not to have any dents and the frame appears perfectly straight. As with my other frames I could arrange to get the work done in the UK and including a re enamel at cost for the buyer. A copy of an early 1930s Granby catalogue will be supplied with the frame. Email for photos. $195

HETCHINS EXPERTO CREDE 22in (ctt) STRAIGHT STAY. 22 1/4in (ctc) top tube. This frame was sold new from Hetchins in 1964 though it was actually built in 1954/5. A copy of all the records relatings to this frame will be supplied with it. The Experto Crede lugwork whilst not as fancy as the Magnum Bonum or Opus is I think one of the most attractive lug designs offered by Hetchins. This frame was re-enamelled about five years ago. The purple enamel is still in very good condition with only a few marks, the most noticeable at the top of the seat tube. It has been very attractively lined out in gold to match the transfer. Email for photos. $395

HOBBS OF BARBICAN RACEWEIGHT 24in FRAME/FORKS 1947 24in (c-to-t) in its very good original paint which is beautifully decorated with swirly box lining. Top tube is 23in (c-to-c). The fork crown chrome plating is pealing and there are quite a few marks especially on the top tube but the paintwork is so gorgeous it is worth saving. Frames of this era with such attractive original paintwork are very rare. It comes complete with a Hobbs Lytalloy headset and a British bottom bracket. The successful buyer would have first option on a complete set of Hobbs Lytalloy brakes which would be perfect for the frame. $225 please see the pictures at http://images.andale.com/f2/118/129/2070911/1031851819728_Hobbs_24in.jpg
