FYI, received the following email (albeit after auction close) from an off-list source across the pond regarding the Urago that sold for $910 this weekend on eBay.

Ian Kersey Williamsburg, VA

Hello. I am not a CR list member but have been watching the correspondence on this bike on the List.

I have a few Uragos and also several catalogues and have identified this particular frame as the base model of the Urago range:-

Urago "Debutante" with Durifort tubing, Nervex Mod 48/161 lugs and Nervex pressed steel plate drop-outs.

The better models used tubing such as Reynolds 531 and Vitus DB, similar lugs but with additional handiwork on the profile, and a more elegant type of pressed drop-outs similar to the Stallard type used on English frames of the period. The top-eyes were very slim and elegant and the brake and chain-stay bridges had decorative reinforcement plates in them. The better frames always had chrome headlugs.

This particular Urago was in a very good state of repair and probably did date from the mid-1950. I hope this info has been of some use to you.
