Remind me, folks, NEVER to get caught up in a Internet fight again. Sorry to burden you all with this soap opera stuff....

In this last situation, I tried to be forgiving and forgetting but I regret having tried to "help" in this matter. I may have been "used" a bit too.

I have tried to be fair and moderate but Nels ' past behavior has been so combative and aggressive in his dealings with Chuck (and others, including me, albeit less frequently) that it is difficult to defend.

Here's my viewpoint

In Internet sales, Chuck seems to have never stiffed folks or misrepresented his goods or services in the entire period I have been involved....

Much of this battle has occurred on rec.bicycles.marketplace... Chuck HAS vigorously and passionately defended himself and fought back when attacked (I have witnessed those Nels launched zingers many, many times and I stopped looking at RBM years ago.)

Chuck has over stated his case a few times but in general his counters have been rational and fact laden; his attacks never even faintly approached the over zealous and exaggerated level that Nels routinely attains in his battling...

Nels may not agree with my analysis here because I think he somehow has convinced himself that he have been wronged and then he has grotesquely over reacted.

Turns out his Internet selling record is not unblemished. I immediately got testimonies from reliable sources that he had been squirrely at best in his dealings with them. Of course there are folks who have had no problems at all...Generally it had to do with the buyers thinking he had misrepresented the condition of the goods he offered for sale. I realize those are subjective judgments but the problem exists.

So the bottom line is Yes, I still consider Chuck the reliable guy here. Yes, he was my friend (but that is strained now. ) And I think it's a shame that I got myself into this fight but in the end, a non biased judge would still say, "Nels, you have created your own quagmire here ."

Sincerely, Dale
