Before it goes to ebay, there were some list members who were interested in this unique and historic bicycle.

If you have a copy of Hillary's book, this is the one that is shown with Brian Walker, No SL1819. It has a 61cm C-T seat tube.

Brian was a well know travel Journalist and illustrator who frequently wrote articles about his cycling tours during the 1950s for Cycling magazine. His illustrations of these often included sketches of his Thanet. Frequently enough for other frame builders to threaten an adverising boycott due to this blatant favouritism!

The frame is in its original paint and chrome with the original transfers. Most equipment items are original but some have been altered and a front pannier rack added sometimes during the 60s. It has been ridden a lot, but is straight and seems to have no obvious dents or bends. If you are interested in buying it I can details as many items as possible. Photographs are available. Included in the sale are some Thanet related printed materials and some photographs of Brian with the bicycle out side the shop.

Price is $2230. I can now accept payment via paypal, but if you decide to buy and use a credit card via paypal, then I have to ask you to cover the addition fee for card payments. Cash and cheques are of course welcome.
