if the tube centerlines are not perpendicular with the bb centerline, (the biomechanical axis), the moving parts will wear unevenly and at a higher rate of speed. that includes your knees. if the head tube is not perpendicular to the bb centerline, (the steering axis), and not in the same plane as the seat tube centerline, the same wear results will occur AND the bicycle will not track straight. to what degree deviations from 'absolutely perfect' are allowable are a function of economics and personal standards. your mention of 'a few millemeters' is a large discrepency in most cases. e-RICHIE Richard Sachs Cycles No.9, North Main Street Chester, CT 06412 USA http://www.richardsachs.com Tel. 860.526.2059
