Along with Charles I'm baffled by Pogliaghi serial numbers--if anyone has more to add please come forth!

The (early) serial numbers in the known universe are Mark P's #9647...Ed L's red bike c. 1969 #9127...ebay tandem c. 1970 #9404...Charles A's c. early/mid 60s #3???...Sterling's new Faema bike #91?? or 92??

Here's Ed's original Pogi. He bought it new when the local shop couldn't get him the Masi he wanted. At the VR the soul within this bike was just oozing out---a puddle of all the excess soul could be seen collecting under it throughout the day: http://classicrendezvous.com/USA/Pogliaghi_E-Litton.htm

I wish mine (1969??) still had its serial # but it was ground off during its tough life on the Berkeley streets. Now that it is adorned with a VeloRendezvous cork it's finally done--take a look: http://www.mookietwoh.com/pogliaghi/Po_side11.jpg

also a folder with more pictures: http://www.mookietwoh.com/pogliaghi/

Notable things about the frame are the absurdly low BB--it measures 58 c-c but looks smaller because it is so low-slung. Also note the gradual, elegant fork bend, the fat 16mm seatstays, and also there are the pins inside; allegedly Sante didn't use any kind of jig. The ride of this bike is indescribeable, very fast, man I love this bike!!!

To quote PeeWee, "You're the bestest bike in the WHOLE world."

Finally I have a few late-60s Pogi decals fs STRICTLY FOR OWNERS OF BIKES NEEDING THEM. Large 'P' globe with Italian bands, mint $20, same but VG/EXC $15, globe with Italian bands (as seen on DT of my bike) mint $20. No more than those, sorry...
