The frame does look like a late '70's vintage. Colnago did not have a fade scheme in the '70s, to my knowledge. Nice levers, poor pictures."

I've got to agree. I've owned two of these from the 1970's and looked at dozens of others trying to get a feel for them.

The fluted seat stay caps place this 1980 or earlier, as after that date they were imprinted "COLNAGO". This is the key in my impression that its a 70's that's been redone. Paint scheme is way wrong for the bike. I couldn't tell much about the fork from those pictures. I'm not sure that the top tube cable guides are wrong -- but I'm not certain and will yield the point to those with more experience. Columbus Aelle sticker is clearly wrong for this bike and its erroneous addition is further evidence of a repaint.

If the fork is not correct then you've got to wonder why it was replaced, and if its new paint was related to the fork replacement -- this might spell "CRASH" -- which may have other structural implications.
