Well gang, it was a fun, laugh filled, loud, chaotic evening indeed! Larry and Dave & I arrived late as the traffic was amazingly dense! But we miraculously found a parking place. Others dribbled in behind us as well to total 23 folk! .. The Restaurant is smallish so we clogged up their work s thoroughly! Our assorted tables were at the very front of the room so we routinely "interacted" with those other patrons coming and going....The older Restaurant gentleman was great (Manager? Owner? Head waiter? Jan who's who?) while a younger fellow in the kitchen/food prep area was rather PO'ed... Funny!
We all talked pell mell in small groups .. then I stood up and handed almost everyone a Cirque goodie.. We had a few toasts and hoorays sprinkled in.. Then Larry Black had brought some bits and pieces of little cool stuff so we had some goofy swag contests.. First non-vintage bike like "Oldest", "youngest", "most hair", "least hair" but that gave way to "Most Bianchis", "Most Masis" etc. I have the impression that the Johnsons won all these awards! Who knows who won what, it was just great laughs!
Larry and I gave in to the "East Coast time zone bonk" apparently too soon because we left before Matte's arrival nor saw the Montelatici..
