Alex Zuckermann's 81 is at present in a Bay Area hospital having fallen from his bike after hitting something that dented his front rim causing him to fall and hit his helmet against the pavement. He is recovering slowly but appears on the mend. Alex has been very active in bicycle in the Bay Area for a long time. See links below. The latest has been getting access across the Richmond to San Rafael Bridge in 2006.So all positive thoughs for his well being would surely be felt by Alex. "Gas guzzlers continue to sustain California's car culture, but Alex Zuckermann's rebel yell has never wavered in the past 30 years.

The 81-year-old Oakland resident, who traded his car for a bike decades ago, helped found the East Bay Bicycle Coalition in 1972 and kicked off a steady stream of advocacy efforts that have persisted over the years....................."
