Beware though, some old coaster brakes used a different thread, not interchangeable with anything else, so check the threading before buying a cog. Unpopular sizes are easier to find than popular ones...most popular (and rare) is 9 tooth. 7s are common as dirt, but who can push one?

I picked up a Regina block chain on eBay a while ago, that's a good place to keep an eye open. I've got a couple of bikes with 1" drivetrains:

My 1916 Mead Ranger, probably with the original roller chain. That's got a Phil Wood flip-flop on it with an 8 and a 9 cog (26 in front.) http://sheldonbrown.org/ranger.html

I just recently converted my 1961 Paramount Road bike to 1 inch. When I bought it, it was a 10 speed with old Campag stuff. I put the original parts aside and set it up with a weird pair of tubular wheels I built, Campag Ergos and Shimano derailers (with a funky cable attachment to make the indexing work. I found I was never riding it though, I mostly prefer to ride fixed these days.

I had picked up a 26 tooth Campag chainring at Larz Anderson a couple years back, fit the 151 cranks, so now it's got the same gearing as the Mead, but with old Campag hubs and block chain. First time I've had the opportunity to ride block chain...doesn't feel quite as efficient as the roller chain on the Mead.

This bike, I firmly believe, is the only bike in the world with a 1" block chain drivetrain...and Campagnolo Ergo levers!
