Kurt,

Clear anodizing was use for a few years, but the vast majority are silver anodized.

The alloy used for the arms, according to Campy, is US made 2014 alum. alloy w/T-4 hardness. The chainrings are US made 7075 w/T-6 hardness. I can't find a reference as to what the caliper alloy is.

Can anyone tell me exactly what process was used to achieve the satin chrome finish seen on NR/SR crankarms? I've heard reference to clear anodizing, but it doesn't seem like that to me. Anyone ever tried refinishing one?

Also, can anyone say what specific alloy and heat treat the forging blanks for these arms were? It seems to be the same alloy and finish as the brake calipers. Any other related parts anyone knows about the specific materials and finishes on as well?

Thanks in Advance, Kurt "No Shandies Please!" Sperry in: Stopped raining, gotta go Bellingham WA
