I have found a few references to Armstrong the first is in the Bicycle January 26th 1949 commenting on the neatness of the concealed brake and gear cables, on one of their models at the 1948 Earl's Court Cycle Show."The brake cable was taken through the top tube, whilst the derailleur transmission was similary housed inside the down tube. In neither case did Armstrong just bore holes and run their cable covers through; the entrance was specially designed and reinforced so that the frame was in no way weakend; the angle of entry, also, was gradual so that the cable wire would run smoothly." I think they are talking about the Continental model.

Advert The Bicycle april 20th 1949 Moth Magnificent Reynolds 531DB tubing. Next The Bicycle October 19th 1949 Earls Court Show stating huge response to the Continental and Moth range introduced for the first time in 1949, that it was the company's intention to introduce the North Road Cotinental in 1950 and upgrade the Peerless Club in the same year. In the same issue full page ad for the Continental Lands End. Finally The Bicycle October 26th 1949 Earls Court Show review commenting on how wonderful the Armstrong Continental range is, three models in range and the North Road was the best and "the track mans Continental model at £35 .3s is the best of its kind i've ever seen. the cunningly strengthned fork-ends, specially lenghtened lugs and superb finish are evidence of the true craftsman's art".
