My recollection is that Andy rode Clark-Kent frames... or was that Alexi Grewal? Anyway the bike he rode to victory on the Alpe d'Huez in 1992 is painted as a Merckx, as were all the Motorola team bikes. The question I have is this: in these situations where a racer rode his own frame that was painted in the sponsor's colors, who paid for the frame? The team? The sponsoring bike supplier? The team's "title" sponsor? Regards, Fred Rednor - Arlington, Virginia
