Since many photos are in black and white, I thought i'd point out that I have recently seen a magazine with some close up shots of Eddy's bike from the Fiat Team in colour.
The bike looks silver, or slightly champagne coloured with a blue panel on the downtube, "eddy merckx" letters in yellow. De Rosa hearts in the flat fork crown casting, and De Rosa on the seat stay caps. Nice bike!

In his book "The Wonderful World of Cycling" there are photos of Merckx riding for the Fiat team in the final year or two of his carreer. He is visibly out of shape, at least as compared to photos of his prime in the same book.
