For sale:

From the 1950s, a very nice and unusual road / path frame. EG bates of Plaistow, London (the other Brother, note:the shop closed this year). Rear facing rear drop outs, fancy cut lugs on the head and seat tube. Double plate fork crown. Very unusual and interesting swaging down on the chainstay. Very fine chainstays have been used so an extra sleeve has been used to fit them to the bottom bracket shell. The BB shell and sleeve have hand cut edges giving a fish scale or pineapple skin effect. Head badge. Fender bosses. A brazed on boss for a single shifter and cable bosses. The frame is structurally good, with some light surface rust. Pale blue with original transfers. Sold with period headset and bottom bracket. 22 1/2" C-T seat tube, 23" top tube C-C.

$220 plus airmail.

Photos are available. Be like Sheldon Brown and ride an EG bates!
