Hi Edward,
I have 2 bikes built by Tom Kellogg - one 1978 custom track steel bike I've had since new and a 1981 road steel frameset that used to be owned by Paul Deem and recently restored by Tom and Jeff.
Tom and Jeff are both great guys, produce a beautiful product, and these bikes seem to ride better than my GIOS or prior Paramounts. This may be due to the custom fittings, or maybe just knowing the craftsman personally.
I'd be curious to responses by list members - are "custom" bikes that much better riding than high quality "factory" ones, or is there no noticeable difference once a factory bike is set up properly?
