I think he was just passing along INFO which is beneficial to the whole group. Otherwise, much of what is posted at times would never get discussed on the list. Much of the info I have obtained about some items was learned by people offlist, therefore should I withhold the info for just me, or answer someones question if it comes up?
I believe the rule applies more when I am saying, "I have a friend with a 1975 Huchi koo in the garage, he selling it and wants me to post it....blah..blah...blah.
