Frera was a very large company that also made motorcycles. They were heavily damaged during the war and may not have been able to restart successfully. As I mentioned, the book was written in 1946, with much of the research done in the years prior; many things happened in the years immediately after the war. Atala (and Lygie that it absorbed) is still located in Padova. I think Torpado was also absorbed by Rizzato.
