I noticed that the small bit (does it have a real name) that is brazed to the underside of the downtube has either been removed or fell off from my Peugeot. I plan to use it with Simplex Criterium shifters, and I was wondering if I will have troubles without this stop? Do all bikes of the era have these stops, or did some never have them?
I would hate to have to have one brazed on, as it is near the nice gold/black Peugeot decal (about 2 - 3 inches away).
