I've really enjoyed all the posts on ride quality and the speculations on the results of blind evaluations.

For me the handmade lugged steel frames amount to art that I can interact with. Art that I can have an actual, physical, sensual experience with. As much as I have enjoyed viewing the great paintings of the world, and been moved by them, the experience has always lacked something. To be able to put your hands on art, to ride it, to use your ability to make it move with speed and grace, that's the best. Consequently, I would think that my evaluations would always be subjective rather than objective. I would expect that what I would find enjoyable would be different than many other riders. It's such a personal experience. Add to that the possibility of actually knowing the individual that built the frame, and objectivity is out the window. It all adds to the enjoyment.

I feel fortunate that I've been able to experience it.

P.S. : A couple of weeks ago, while the whole Celeste thing was going on, I was not feeling well. I woke up in the middle of the night with an entire song going through my head. The song was "That's Celeste" sung to the tune of "That's Amore". Aren't you glad I didn't post that little bit of insanity? I know I am.
