Wes asked if anybody remembered Matchless's G85CS and Norton P11's .Sort of off topic but I restored the first P11A in Britain back in 1986. I had to make a press tool to reproduce the air filters and was selling these back to a dealer in the States. I had an ex works G85CS and a 1959 600cc AJS Typhoon. On topic content- Matchless launched a sporty lightweight bicycle in 1935- the model name was P11! That was made with Reynolds HM (for high Manganese) not 531 which was launched that year. I have a brochure from that year which I believe Chuck does as a repro. The motorcycle frames were fillet brazed but not with the same finesse as the lugless bicycles I have, namely Gillott L'Atlantique, Paris and Holdsworth La Quelda. Mark Stevens -always a 2 wheeler.
