With a little bit of extra time I started looking for stress cracks at the base of the arm next to the spider on Campagnolo record cranks. I used a Sears craftsman 1/8 inch chainsaw file, part No. 931269, about $2 at Sears. I do not believe that the tool could have worked any better. It is a small round rat tail file. The cutting edge is smooth but easily removes aluminum and leaves it in the correct shape. Just passing this along. Happy holidays.
