Can anyone list member in the UK help me? I need a couple of 32-597, that is to say in oldspeak twenty six by one and a quarter, rims; 32 hole and 40 hole. They are to finish off a 1951 E.G.Bates Per Probatem which will spend part of its time in the Cycle Shop at the Amberley Working Museum here in Sussex. Not a museum exhibit gathering dust but a cycle to be used like its close blood relative a 1948 Bates BAR which we are also doing. We thought we had a pair of Weinmanns in our small stock of bits but it turns out that we only have a rear one. Either alloy rims or Dunlop Special Lightweight would be ideal but anything in the way of wheels or rims would get us mobile. A cycle with no wheels is not a cycle! We are trying very hard to make the tiny Cycle Shop more interesting to real cyclists who visit the museum. If all goes well, two nice lightweights by the spring. Please contact me off list even if you have only one to offer. Thanks. Stuart Tallack in rainsodden Sussex which is slowly sinking into the channel as sea level rises.
