I understand that in the UK, a company can "retreat" from being an at-large Corporation, to be no longer listed in that way, and become then a sole proprietorship (maybe worded differently) . It does not mean that Omega, for instance, would cease to exist as an entity but just be redefined as a business. These are difficult economic times and I would not be surprised if many companies down size this winter.. (cycles de ORO?)

As I think I mentioned before here, cycles de ORO Bike Shop (me!) sold a handful of Omega branded frames back a few years ago ($?) We bought them through a young British fellow who was acting as Mark's agent. I met Mark during that time when he came into my store during a visit to the States. The DeFeet (the socks folks) team bought a batch too and I saw a number of these frames.. My report is that they were totally competent in execution and performance. We had quite an array of models from basic to exotic.. All were lugged (!) using investment cast "conjunctions" and cleanly brazed. Some of you old-timers on the list may recall that I offered a metallic green, fancy lugged version using the Fleur de Lis precut lugs to the list. I recall E-Richie saying those lugs are "fake-art", by which I think he meant, like Nervex Pros and Rivendell, that they are pre-made and not hand cut... In any case, the Omegas I have experienced were quite nice frames and very well made.. There is no reason to assume that the Hetchins labeled or Gillot labeled versions would be anything else...
