Hi Greg

Does Dawn leave a soapy film on the oily parts that "gums up" the parts? I have heard that Dawn is a non-caustic dish washing cleaner made by the Procter and Gamble Company is very good for gently removing oil concentrations. P&G recently donated over 50 cases of Dawn to clean oild deposits on birds endangered from the Spanish Coast Oil Tanker that sunk recently. The spill cleanup crews prefered Dawn because it seems to work better at breaking up oil deposits. I wonder how it compares to some of the citrus oil removers...

Regarding the use of Dawn with ultrasonic cleaners, I have heard it is best to heat the water to 140 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, mix the water with Dawn in the ulrasonic cleaner pan, turn on the ultrasonic cleaning unit for 5 minutes to "degauss", and then place the bike part(s) in a mesh tray and let them clean for 10 minutes. Have you had any experience working with Dawn in this way?

Thanks, Steve
