I bought a CURLY stay a month or so ago,an original 1970 bike with CINELLI hubs. I paid twice for it what I had ever paid for a bike that I was adding to my collection. And at that amount it was less than a new frame only, from almost any custom builder. Why buy what amounts to be a "REPLICA" when you can have the real thing? Not that I would concider spending 8k for a "C" bike but what advantage is there to a HETCHINS that is not one? I take great pleasure in having bikes that I dreamed of in my earlier days and cannot justify upgrading a 8spd DA bike just to have 9spd(OFF-T ) I appreciate old BRANDS or MARQUES(and some not so old) but concider the recent back and forth on HETCHINS to not really be ON-T ,I think our interests are on the original, even if they originate in SO CAL or MASS. There are a few things I do not like about this list ,as my old boss DAVE would say FLOGGING is one and another might be reading back the whole digest because one is to lazy or unclear on how to simply do a new reply. I dont mind the microscope........just dont beat me over the head with it BOB FREITAS MILL VALLEY,CA where I intend to get on one of my old crates and go for a ride in the AM

Sorry DALE.....................
