From: MercianPro@aol.com With respect to the recent Vitus questions, I'll add one:

Beloved Spouse's "l'Orphelin"* came with stickers saying

"3 Tubes Super Vitus 971" and "Houbans - Bases Fourreaux Super Vitus 971"

Questions: 1) anyone know anything about the Super Vitus 971? Composition, market position relative to others, etc? 2) Houbans means? Bases?

*It is called "l'Orphelin" (the orphan) because we bought it at the bankruptcy auction of the Shaker Heights Bicycle Shop, about 1975. It had tubing stickers, but no brand stickers. Generic French frame, awaiting a shop's private label, I guess. The bike is very light (but small). thanks harvey sachs mcLean va
