The oft mentioned method is to remove the lock nuts and look at their inward-facing surfaces. The last two digits of the year of manufacture (of the lock nuts, anyway) will be engraved on this surface. It would be best if you could examine both the front and rear hubs. The front lock nuts are rarely changed but there are two different width nuts at the rear. Sometimes one of those is changed when a hub is re-spaced for one reason or another. (E.g.
