I received the slide that I referred to in a previous post (below) . I had it made into a print. The bike is in fact another yellow Cinelli with the red head tube and red panel seat tube (a picture of mine is now on Mark Petry's website (http://www.petry.org/markp/cinolog.htm; the link to the picture is by serial number 5946). Details of the Cinelli in the slide show a bike with lots of drillium components, a Brueglemann decal on the seat tube, a Bruegelmann water bottle, and the name "Peter Dargel" on the top tube near the seat post. Does anyone recognize this name from early 1970s racing?

This particular frame came to his attention through a description in a Bruegelmann (of Frankfurt, Germany) brochure/catalog of 1971. Although he would have preferred silver, this particular model was only available in yellow. My friend also recalls a reference to a lightweight Columbus tubing reference. So, he placed the order with Bruegelmann's and waited nearly a year to receive it.

In my first post, I said that, "He has mentioned to me that he has only ever seen one like it (in yellow), and that was during a 1972 Olympic training ride where a rider had one". My friend has clarified that this was in an actual race; apparently, there were a number of races that were being held in Germany where some Olympians raced as part of their training leading up to the Olympics. Good news: as he had ordered the frame and fork only, he was so happy to see a completely built bike that he took a photograph (slide) of the yellow Cinelli in that race. The slide is being sent to me; I will have it printed and see what details are in the photo.
