Since obtaining my Rauler several years ago I have tried to find some history on the builder and their connection with Colnago. I did learn, from Rauler, that the relationship ended in 1985. In contacting Colnago I was told they don’t have records further back than 1990. One puzzling question I had in particular was the resemblance between my Rauler’s lugs and the Colnago Arabesque lugs, the many similarities and the connection of the two. In an e-mail from Rauler they told me that the lugs on the Rauler were offered to Colnago, but turned down. I suspect they wanted a unique lugset of their own. Tom Sanders received the following e-mail from Rauler in regards to that very question. It would be nice to see those Arabesque frames that were produced by Rauler and compare them to the one’s produced by Colnago. Hopefully more of the puzzle will come together down the road. It would also be nice to know who designed the Arabesque lugs. Some other information on the relationship that has come to light is Rauler built many of the high end Colnago's during this time in addition to the Arabesque.

Dear Mr. Sanders,

The Arabesque model of Colnago was an idea of Rauler company and the first Arabesque bike was made by Rauler. Then Colnago produced the Arabesque bike under Rauler authorization.

Kind Regards

Rauler

How are you all down south likely the weather? Send what you don't want our way. Just starting snowing here and calling for 12-18 inches. No riding tomorrow, but the skiing should be good.
