Chuck raises a good point about the 1st gen cage and 2nd gen body. I have seen them both ways. Although, you could argue that the cage was a left-over replacement item. MY guess is that Campy changed the body first and the cage, later. Or maybe they just ran out of early bodies before they ran out of cages??? Probably will remain a mystery, unless there is a catalog showing the mismatched design, somewhere.

Just my 2 lire worth from the globally warmed body of Scott Davis in semi-tropical St. Paul, MN --Chuck Schmidt wrote--Not to step on any toes, but it looks to me to be mismatched actually. First generation cage with second generation body.

See: http://members.aol.com/~satorumas/brands/campy1stGSfd.html This is the first with the "set screw" throw adjuster on the top of the body.

See: http://village.infoweb.ne.jp/~velo/brands/components/campygs1fds.jpg This is the second with the "screw w/ spring" throw adjuster on the top of the body.
