My recommendation would be: stay with a 1/A - they don't creak like a 1/R sometimes will, and they were available for a very long time, so they're (almost) always "period correct." You'd probably want one with a logo type that matches the bars (old logo, perhaps? Or do your bars have the "flying C" logo?)
