The oval logo with the knight's helmet persisted well into the 70s, at least based on my memory of those bikes I saw new in shops. The square logo didn't start to show up until the mid-70s at the earliest. I bought a set of Ergals in about 1976 that had the square logo. How much further back it goes, I don't know.
