I might be way out of line here--especially since I've never been to the Cirque and haven't met the folks behind the names (though long ago I was in Cycles d'Oro)--but I've got an idea about a name for the award.

Earlier this year, as I was reading the various reports from Cirque 2002, I was struck by the story that came out after the event, the story that involved a man who was long involved in the cycling scene and seemed to help extensively with the gathering.

So . . . I don't really know if this is appropriate or not . . . but perhaps the award could be named the "Mike Richardson Award."

It might be a good way to remember the man.

Just my 2 cents.
