Years ago my buddy Chaz Vlasits cooked up a great solution to this problem. Arc weld any old 1/2" drive socket end to end with the appropriate freewheel remover and use a pneumatic impact gun to take the freewheel off. You can hold the hub in your hand. It works great. Sometimes I have had to wear a glove. It is usually a good idea to bolt the tool to the hub using an old skewer with the lever removed. Sometimes the skewer has to be trapped inside the socket before welding.
