Happy New Year everyone.. Thanks for a great year and I look forward to an even better one to come..

As I attend my self assigned duties with the CR list, I occasionally get peeved when I find myself caught up certain repetitions (Old members have heard this all before!)

So, bear with me but (once again) I grow weary of privately sending messages to members who simply cannot remember to follow our simple requirements. To the vast majority of the now nearly 800 members who do cooperate, I thank you. To those who do not, consider yourself forewarned.

1.) The number one reminder I am forced to send out on an almost daily basis is:

The requirement to sign off, in each and every CR message, with your first and last name and your city.. not the Region, not "Near Chicago," etc. , but where you are writing that message. If you do not want subscribe to this practice, please remove yourself from this list (or I will!) The quoting of "Security" fears ring hollow to me personally, because any of you can find me at work or at home or by telephone any day of the week. I have had a few folks angry at me and I have even received threats, but I am not afraid to sign an e-mail as myself. It is an important principle that people who are on this list do not hide like cowards behind pseudonyms. It is person to person. Anonymity in any fashion is not acceptable. If you find yourself "forgetting" to sign off properly, I suggest you look into your e-mail service; I would bet that you can create an automatic "signature" to be placed in each and every e-mail you send.... that would make all you outgoing mail very convenient for you, polite to the eventual reader and effortless.

2.) The second most frequent reminder I must make is the placing of objects for sale with no price. It is a requirement that every object placed for sale or alluded to being for sale on the CR list, MUST have an accompanying set price. I do not want the list used as a means to "get the highest price" for old bikes or parts. That is what eBay is for. Here you should ask a fair and specific price... Heck, I don't even care if it "fair"... be high as a kite if you like.. just state a price that you will take for it! No games, no vying one person against another, all I ask is for "straight up" transactions on the CR! Understand?

So, I am hoping for a new level of attentiveness to the basics (brush up on the whole set-up here: CR list rules) to save me from getting really upset and just removing those folks who cannot get in step... I really do not want to do that to anyone. It's all in your hands!

Thanks Dale
