FRED DEAN 22 1/4in (ctt) 21 1/2in top tube Nervex Pro lugs, Campagnolo long dropouts. Fred Dean was a framebuilder who had worked at Claud Butlers and he set up on his own in 1957. He closed down by about 1965. This one has a very beautifully filed and cut-out fork crown, lovely reinforced brake bridge for brake spindle and where attached to seatstays and a very neat full wrapover seat stay top treatment However it does need a respray. The remains of the head and seat tube transfers are clearly visible as is the Reynolds double butted transfer. The chrome is shot and the paint poor but the frame does appear to be very sound and undented. Potentially this is a gorgeous frame. $95
