I also have a King headset that I believe is from the early 80's, and can't recall if there was much difference for quite a few years. In fact, until they started putting the "Chris King" etching on the cups, they were pretty generic looking headsets. I can take some pics of mine, but since it's black, some of the detail will be lost. King still makes the best headset on the market, IMHO. Another interesting thing is that the King headsets seemed ultra-expensive back then but, comparatively, they haven't increased in cost that much.

Put me on the list for the retro version.
