This was stolen in San Francisco in 1992, and is unique enough that someone in this group may have seen it around. It is a 62cm (center to top) track frame. At the time, it had the original paint and decals and was metallic jade green. It is 531 tubing and has a Colnago style cloverleaf cut-out in the lower headlug (painted yellow). The forks are 24mm round Columbus pattern blades and the flat top crown is drilled for a brake. I think the Ron Cooper decals on the down tube were white. Campy track drop outs.
One of a kind wheels: Super Champion wood rims, 4 cross on Campagnolo HF track hubs. The rear spokes are interlaced twice (basket weaving effect). The rims are unusual in that they have ferrules that allow the use of modern short nipples which are alloy.
TTT silver alloy stem with Cinelli steel track bars. Omas Ti track BB. 175mm track cranks (144 bcd) with 1/8" chainring. The arms don't match exactly but both are marked 175 PISTA. Diamond two piece masterlink. Kingsbury seatpost, Campagnolo black track pedals with triple Binda straps. I had another set of bars I used on it that had a Cinelli steel 13cm stem. I also used a Campy handlebar shifter on the right side to operate a Campy front brake. I'm not sure which bars were on it at the time.
SFPD case # is 920 699 779. Big reward.
Obviously the color might have changed, but the wheels are a dead give away.
I've never seen another pair of those rims since, and just finding the wheels
might lead to the bike. This was the only Reynolds tubing bike I ever had
that I really liked.
