Subject: [CR]Repair? Flexible Nuovo Record derailleur

I have a 73 NR rear derailleur which is very nice cosmetically but seems to have excess slop in the pins and also the cage pivot. I've replaced the lower body bushing and spring cover(810/1A and 812/A). It appears lower body is worn(810/A) and the solid pins and bushings need replaced. Is it economical to try and repair this; or should I just hunt for another one? Bike actually calls for a pat74, but the year difference doesn't bother me much. Trying to make a shim for between the body and spring cover might work. Anyone try this? Thinking aluminum, brass, or maybe shrink wrap. Oddly it wants to work but the two largest cogs put more strain on derailleur and the cage alignment goes pretty far off and there is noise.
