Ok, guess I'll chime in too! It is their own prerogative if they want to start up a different site dedicated to English or French bike but in my opinion it just muddies and waters everything down.

I would hate to see the CR list now get segregated like this:( It kinda flows against the whole idea of it. A one-stop resource for exchange of ideas and knowledge regardess of orgins. Yea, I know - not a list but it just seems like it is heading that way... Soon, we won't see any activity about French or British makers.?.

Yes, there are more Americans on the list (not sure) who have been primarily exposed to Italian and/or American builders... I guess Masi and its history seems to come up a quite a bit:) It is interesting though and entertaining and there are still gaps missing in that tale.

What we don't see is a hook. I have a Holdsworth path racer. I ride it almost everyday anymore since I am a fixed gearaholic. But, what exactly is a path racer? History behind it? Etc...

I guess I never really asked but I have not seen many discussions for the benifit of the list about the different British marques:(

Trump that horn! Tell us the history behind the Hetchins name. Why Flying Scott is just as collectable as Masi:) I thought that ornate lugs orgins thread was great. I never really thought about it before.

Anyway, we have more in common than not so seeing things fracture just bums me out. Why not have a theme on the CR list? Post a msg once a week about certain British or French marques to encourage a dialog?

Mike "Hook, line and sinker" Wilkinson Parker, CO where it was too windy to want to ride today!
